In the most recent experiments with a backyard kiln I’ve been using a bigger bin in order to accommodate the larger clay forms that I’ve been creating. These ceramic components are based on the geometry of Brunelleschi’s dome on the Santa Marie del Fiore cathedral in Florence. The cathedral dome is an iconic structure within the history of architecture and is part of the developing body of work on domes and micro environments that I have been pursuing in recent months.
